I turned 33 this month. Boom. Not a significant age in my opinion, but still, I saw it as an excuse to get a babysitter and do a little spa and foodie celebrating over the weekend. Any excuse to have some adult time these days is a good excuse!
How to have the best South Florida birthday in 4 easy steps…
Fri-yay
First up, a life-changing facial (anti-aging of course) at Belly Love Spa! Sufficed to say, you need to book one. Now.
I was so relaxed, I was even remiss in taking photos. A BLOGGER NOT TAKING ANY PHOTOS. Exactly. That’s how good it was.
With a facial checked off my list, lunch at Farmer’s Table and a drink at the new pool bar at the Wyndham Boca Raton, a special MBMom Birthday edition of “POUND and Pour” at Organic Movements was next! It was so much fun!
(Special thanks to instructor Connie Mullen and Miss Courtney for organizing!)
Why not work out with friends to celebrate the day of your birth? You certainly have less guilt about eating cake then…
Saturday
#modernbocadad and I were invited on a Taste History Culinary Tour of Lake Worth and Lantana and we happily obliged. History and food (and a BYO bottle of champagne)? Count us in!
A combo bus (with a/c) and walking tour, we learned about the local history and landmarks, tasted yummy food and browsed through local art galleries and boutiques (my favs have * by them):
-
Mother Earth Sanctuary Café in Lake Worth*
-
Lake Worth Art League Gallery in Lake Worth
-
The Java Juice Bar in Lake Worth
-
Taco Lady in Lake Worth
-
Artisans on the Ave Gallery in Lake Worth*
-
Brogues Down Under in Lake Worth
-
Hoffman’s Chocolates in Lake Worth
-
Mama Gizzi’s in Lake Worth*
-
Cheese & Wine Café in Lantana
All in all, a fun and educational “date day!” Check out a photo gallery of our tour below:
Sunday
It wouldn’t be a former New Yorker’s birthday weekend without BRUNCH now, would it?
We headed down to NYY Steakhouse in Coconut Creek for an all you can eat/drink AMAZEBALLS brunch for $75 bucks (pp).
Let’s just say we got our money’s worth…especially with their mimosas and seafood bar…it was delicious! I can’t wait to go back.
So there you have it! 33 really was an amazing birthday. The most important element though? Great friends and family.
xo,
MBMom
