Tell us about your background and why you decided to start your new business…
My name is Claibourne Rogers and I’m the owner of Chicken Salad Chick Coral Springs. I spent just over a decade in the public relations industry before making the leap into entrepreneurship. I had always wanted to own my own business. When I had my son Lucas in January 2018, I made the decision that it was finally time. I wanted to build a business that could support my family, but also allow me the flexibility to spend quality time with them as they grew up.
My husband and I came up with a game plan and started looking at franchises. I had actually worked on the brand during my career at Fish Consulting and had fallen in love with the concept and the food! We started talking to Chicken Salad Chick in early 2019 and signed our agreement with the brand in August of that year.
What challenges did you face while launching your business?
The Chicken Salad Chick concept, born in Auburn, Ala., was established in 2008 in the kitchen of founder Stacy Brown. With a basket on her arm and four different chicken salad flavors in hand, Brown embarked on her door-to-door delivery service. She launched her first restaurant with the business expertise of her future husband and fellow founder, Kevin Brown, and now the company has more than 180 restaurants across 17 states.

What’s truly unique about your business?
We sell 12 different flavors of chicken salad! That alone speaks for itself, but we also pride ourselves in our guest services. We commit to not just selling phenomenal chicken salad, but to spreading joy, enriching lives and serving others. This extends into every piece of the business–from how we treat our vendors to how we treat our team and guests.
