Summer Zoo Camp at Palm Beach Zoo

Are you ready for a summer full of WILD fun? Send your zookeepers on the adventure of a lifetime at Palm Beach Zoo! Come for one week or the entire summer starting June 3. 2019 South Florida Summer Camps

Organic Movements Dance School Summer Dance Intensives

Organic Movements Dance School in East Boca Raton offers both a ½ Day Summer Dance Intensive for students ages 3+ (students must be 3 by January 1, 2018) as well as their traditional Full-Day Dance Intensive for students ages 7 – 18. Both programs are taught in their state of the art, professionally appointed 5,200 sq ft facilities, which feature an in-house performance space, sprung floor, full-length mirrors, sound systems, kitchen and dressing rooms. Each 3 week Session culminates in a performance review on the last Friday of the session at 4:00 p.m. (12:00 p.m. for the 1/2 Day Intensive students).

Dance Intensive Details

The ½ Day Dance Intensive runs M – F (June 10-28 and July 15-August 2) from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Students are introduced to foundational technique in an array of genres of dance, creative movement and performance arts, including: Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Creative Movement, Acro/Tumbling, Prop-Making, and music.

Students enrolled in the Full-Day Dance Intensive are placed according to technique level. Each morning is devoted to technical training, and afternoons are comprised of choreography as well as strength & conditioning training. The programs strongest focus is on classical ballet, yet each session will also focus on introducing, exposing and educating students in different dance disciplines to help create well-rounded dancers. Intermediate and Advanced level students’ training is reinforced through pointe/pre-pointe and classical variations. Additional genres of training vary by session, but include: Modern, Jazz, Broadway Dance, Contemporary and Lyrical. Camp dates available on the website below!

Summer was Made for Adventure at the South Florida Science Center

Experience a Summer full of adventure through interactive science and tech camps at 2 great locations! For young scientists ages 4-14, each exciting week of camp offers hands-on exploration of a variety of STEM topics. The days are packed with engaging lessons, labs, crafts and outdoor activities led by our expert Science Educators. At the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium in West Palm Beach or STEM Studio in Jupiter. STEM Studio is an extension of the 55-year-old Science Center and also offers after-school and weekend programming in Downtown Abacoa.

Themes include MinecraftEDU, Ocean Commotion, Harry Potter Science, Drones and more! Campers will also explore over 100+ hands-on exhibits, a new outdoor science trail, and more at our West Palm Beach location. At our Jupiter location, they will get their wiggles out by playing outdoor games at the Abacoa amphitheater and trade places with a neighboring karate studio. Summer Intensives at Boca Ballet Theatre

Boca Ballet Theatre will be holding auditions for the Summer Intensive Workshop on March 2, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. 

This 5-week intensive workshop includes well know and respected Artistic Directors Peter Boal of Pacific Northwest Ballet; Douglas Martin of American Repertory Ballet; Devon Carney of Kansas City Ballet; and Stoner Winslett of Richmond Ballet. The directors will be using this workshop as an audition for trainee, 2nd company and apprentice contracts in their ballet companies. What a great opportunity to be seen by these esteemed directors!

In the Performance Intensive Workshop

You will learn what it is to be a member of a Corps de Ballet dancing with some of the finest professional dancers in the world.  Placement will be made during the first week of classes. There will be instruction in ballet technique, together with either jazz, character, modern or Pilates. Additional classes in pointe technique and variations will also be included.  Dance enrichment sessions will include: question-and-answer sessions with professional dancers, technical theater production, video critique of historic ballet performances, plus discussions on resume, make-up and audition skills.

The summer intensive workshop is offered: July 1 – August 4, 2019, Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with a tuition of $1,895 and room & board at $2,995, and culminates with a full-stage 2019 South Florida Summer Camps production of Bohemian Heat a repertory concert including: Bohemian Rahpsody, Raymonda Suite and much more with amazing professional guest artists.
