Spring musicals weren’t really “a thing” when I was in high school. Boca High didn’t have the auditorium facilities it does now, so it was pretty much cheerleading and football and basketball games for me! Now working with (and at) Grandview Preparatory School, it has given me a second chance to be a part of a springtime musical…as a parent spectator of course. 😉 This year, Grandview is putting on Mamma Mia April 26-27, (2024)…and it’s a must-see!
Synopsis: This sunny, funny, international smash hit sensation unfolds on a Greek island paradise when on the eve of her wedding, a young woman’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited twenty years ago. Non-stop laughs and explosive dance numbers, along with the magic of ABBA’s hit songs that include “Super Trouper,” “Dancing Queen,” “Knowing Me, Knowing You,” “Take a Chance on Me,” “Thank You for the Music,” “Money, Money, Money,” “The Winner Takes It All,” and “SOS,” combine to make this enchanting show a trip down the aisle you’ll never forget!
