Today’s featured Modern Boca MOMpreneur is Jena Marxer, independent stylist for J. Hilburn, a custom men’s clothing line.
Tell us a little about your background and why you decided to join this styling business…
Hi! My name is Jena Marxer and I have been an Independent Stylist with J. Hilburn, Custom Men’s Clothing since Feb 2012. My husband and I have 3 grown children whom we raised in Minnesota.
My husband traveled frequently for work in those days, so we decided that while our kids were young, I would stay home with them. I had a previous career at a life insurance and annuity company in the new business and marketing area and worked there for 8 years before we started a family. I enjoyed staying home with the kids and really got involved in volunteering and chairing several committees for the kids’ schools. I also participated in Junior League for many years. 
In 2012, when the children were getting older and more independent, I decided I wanted to get back in the workforce, but really wanted to find an opportunity that gave me 1) flexibility in my schedule and 2) the ability to manage my own business.
My husband was currently wearing the J. Hilburn brand and he loved the quality, fit and convenience of having a stylist to work with. He suggested that I reach out to his stylist to find out more. I ended up joining the company in February of that year and launched my styling business!
What is unique about your service and why should our Modern Boca Mom readers–and their husbands or sons become your clients?

I’ve built a flexible career with J. Hilburn and have earned several incentive trips, bonuses and have a growing team of stylists that I have mentored. I enjoy working with clients one-on-one to help them build a versatile wardrobe and I also help mentor entrepreneurs to join my team and start their own J. Hilburn styling business!

What exciting things are coming up for J. Hilburn Custom Men’s Clothing?
I truly believe that we offer a concierge experience for our clients. As a stylist I can meet with them at their home or office. I like to gather information about a man’s fit preferences and how they like to dress for work or social occasions. I then get the client’s measurement profile and we look at fabrics and select the looks that he desires. I enjoy building relationships with my clients as their trusted style advisor.

What do you love about working in South Florida?
We love it here in South Florida! My husband and I moved here from Minnesota in 2021. We live in Lighthouse Point and it has been such a great move for us! We are enjoying the warm weather, diverse population and all that South Florida has to offer.
