Tell us a little about your background and why you decided to open Vila Kids…
Hello! My name is Alessandra Oliveira. Before I opened Vila Kids Boca Raton (and Miami), I enjoyed 20+ years experience in developing and executing strategic marketing plans. As a former brand ambassador, I have overseen advertising and promotion strategies across various media platforms. My expertise lies in maintaining a consistent corporate image across product lines, promotional materials, and events.
How did your business get started? Did you face any challenges?
I moved to Miami in 2018 when my husband was transferred to the area. After sending my 2 daughters to school and organizing our new life, I saw that there were no baby boutiques near my house in Brickell. I have always worked in the fashion market in Brazil, so I recognized the products that could make a difference in the lives of mothers. In the few boutiques I went to, I saw a lack of attention to customer service and above all, there were no stores where a parent could leave with a unique birthday gift with beautiful wrapping.
After months of research, we discovered that there was a local space for high quality products for babies and toddlers: pima cotton – which is used to make Lacoste polo shirts, shoes from Brazilian and Spanish manufacturers, European educational toys, perfumes for French babies, etc.

We ended up opening a Vila Kids store in Boca Raton because I had several requests on our website in the area and we received an invitation from Town Center at Boca Raton to open up our space in front of the Play Area of the mall.

For the 2023 holiday season, we have an entire line of European toys, beautiful gift packaging and more. All shoes are 20% off and all swimwear is 50% off!
If your child or grandchild lives in another state, we will wrap the gift, include a card with your message and signature and ship it via UPS the very next day!
What do you love about working and living in South Florida?
I live in Key Biscayne, but I’m IN LOVE with Boca Raton. The residents of Boca Raton are polite, elegant and above all, have great taste! Come see us the next time you are in the Nordstrom Court at Town Center at Boca Raton!
