I am a sucker for two things: cute babies and a GREAT happy hour. And, Junior’s Boca Raton, located in Mizner Park, has at least one of those on the daily. 🙂 The family and I *finally* had a chance to dine at the establishment we had seen hundreds of times during our 9 years living in New York City. Go figure it was in Boca.
Junior’s Boca Raton ‘Most Fabulous Happy Hour’ is now from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. daily. It features half off all cocktails, including premium liquor brands, and half off all appetizers.
Mondays are ‘Most Fabulous Wine & Dine’. This includes wine by the bottle at 50% off, with the purchase of an entrée.
Friday nights are all about the ‘Party on the Patio’ featuring a DJ from 8:00 p.m. to close
We happened to dine on a Tuesday at Junior’s Boca Raton and thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant’s ‘Most Fabulous Burger Night’. Their original 10-ounce steak burger is available for just $7!
Not to mention all of the other menu items we tried such as the Thai Chili Wings appetizer and “Something Different” with potato pancakes and brisket- be sure to ask your server about that one!
It wouldn’t be a meal at Junior’s Restaurant and Bakery without a taste of one of their award-winning cheesecakes. They are available to purchase by the cake, or by the slice. A wide selection of cheesecakes, layer cakes and baked goods are available in the bakery. We went for the Original and Chocolate Swirl. DELECTABLE!
Junior’s Boca Raton is, as they say, fabulous! Be sure to stop in this summer and enjoy one of their specially-themed deal nights or my personal favorite, Happy Hour!

When my sister and I met up for coffee last month, we realized our mom had a big birthday coming up…and fast. It wasn’t just any ol’ birthday either– it was her 65th! A very special day. We knew our mom didn’t want a party and couldn’t get away for a trip (unfortunately), so we decided to officially dub June 3rd “Mormor Day” and whisk her away for a spa celebration at Eau Palm Beach Resort!
Who or what is a Mormor, you ask? Mormor is “mother’s mother” in Swedish and what my daughter calls her grandmother. The nickname has spread like wildfire throughout my family and now, no one calls her anything but that. 🙂
To make “Mormor Day” extra special, I booked a stretch limousine with my friends at Black Pearl Limousine. #dailybocaavery even got to ride with us to pick up my mom. She had a blast!
Our driver was fantastic and rolled out the red carpet (literally) for our party. We brought a couple bottles of champagne and got our party started as we headed up to Manalapan!
If you haven’t been to the Eau Palm Beach before, it’s simply amazing. It’s a luxurious experience just walking into the lobby!
You can’t visit the resort without indulging in their amazing ocean views. So, we kicked off our spa celebration at Eau Palm Beach at their oceanfront restaurant: Breeze Ocean Kitchen.
It was a little rainy when we got there, but by the time we ordered cocktails and appetizers, the sun decided to come out and play!
The food was wonderful- it’s such a fun place to dine on property…and right by the pool AND ocean!
Spa Celebration at Eau Palm Beach Resort
After lunch, we had big spa day plans booked. Did you know that the Eau Spa Fairies have been picking their favorite treatments to share this summer at incredible summer pricing? Eau Spa Summer Specials will be offered through September 30, 2017, and are available Sunday through Thursday every week.
My mom and I booked a Self-Centered Massage (eau-mazing!) and my sister got an Essence Facial(which I tried last year). We also set Mormor up with a fabulous pedicure experience. We aimed to spoil her!
You just can’t beat a spa celebration at Eau Palm Beach. The spa lounge and bath facilities alone are top notch and so relaxing. I wanted to stay all day.
Thank you so much to the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa and Black Pearl Limousine for hosting us and making “Mormor Day” the best celebration ever! Happy Birthday Mom!
Eau Spa is located at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa at 100 South Ocean Blvd., Palm Beach. Reservations are required. For more information or reserve a spot, please call the Eau Spa Fairies at 561-540-4960 or email email@example.com.
Be still my heart. No one was more excited than me (and #dailybocaavery…and maybe my mom) to find out that Boca Raton’s own Wick Theatre(7901 N Federal Highway) is putting on one of my all time favorite Walt Disney Broadway productions this summer: Beauty and the Beast at The Wick!
Not to mention some FABULOUS companion events for the whole family. Can you say tea time with Mrs. Potts?
The tale as old as time, Disney’s Beauty and The Beast, comes to The Wick Theatre this summer. The smash hit Broadway musical is based on the Academy Award-winning animated film and features music by Alan Menken with lyrics by Tim Rice and Howard Ashman.
The cast of Beauty and The Beast includes Loren Christopher as the Beast, Mallory Newbrough as Belle, Courter Simmons as Lefou, Jacob Thompson as Gaston and Jonathan Van Dyke as Lumiere. Dom Ruggiero is directing and the musical director is Eric Alsford.
To add to the enchantment of this summer production, Marilynn Wick has created special pre-performance events including Story Time with Belle, Tea Time with Mrs. Potts and Lumiere’s CandlelightDinner.
Here’s the scoop on Beauty and the Beast at The Wick:

#dailybocaavery turned 4 y’all. Cue the tears. I have resisted throwing her birthday parties up until this point because…a. they’re a lot of work, b. they typically suck for the adults, c. she hasn’t cared, etc. etc. A trip to Disney or a small family party has done the celebratory trick til now! But this year, Avery really wanted to have her own get together. I allowed her to invite five of her friends over (and their parents because, well…the kids are only 3-5 years old) for a pool party at our home. For food, we kept it simple and ordered Chick-fil-A platters and a cupcake cake from Publix. These Boca birthday vendors, however, went above and beyond to make our party great. Here’s why you need to hire them…
MBMom’s Top Boca Birthday Vendors
Sweet Memories Photography: Because I was so busy I forgot to take a single photo
I’m so relieved that I asked Naomi from Sweet Memories Photography to come take pictures at Avery’s My Little Pony/Trolls 4th Birthday Party. Avery couldn’t decide on one theme, so we went with a hybrid. Whatever. Naomi took care of capturing all of the great memories from the day…including a ton I missed. How beautiful are these photos?
You can buy our giant birthday balloons through this affiliate link. They made such a statement and we were even able to re-use them!
All of the “My Little Pony” plates/cups/napkins/cutlery are available through this affiliate link.
2. Premier Bounce N Slide: Because you need the kids to work off all the sugar before you take them home
We rented a bounce house for Avery’s birthday party from Premier Bounce N Slide! Everyone loved it. Not only do they have traditional bounce houses for rent, but they also offer water slides, dry slides, obstacle courses, tents, tables, chairs and face painting! It’s a one-stop shop for parties.
3. Trusted Party Rentals: Because there’s nothing like seeing your child’s face light up when their favorite character shows up at home
We wrote all about the founder of Trusted Party Rentals HERE. I chose them as our costumed character vendor because they had PRINCESS POPPY! She’s from Trolls in case you didn’t know. Poppy had her own handler and arrived right on time.
MBMom Tip: Schedule your character to arrive 15 minutes before you cut the cake. You’ll have some super cute photo opps!
4. Event Yard Card: Because it’s the easiest (and cutest) way to dress up your front yard
Avery’s birthday certainly made a statement in our neighborhood with this display! You may remember me decking out my sister’s front yard when my nephew was born. 🙂 We love using Event Yard Card to celebrate special occasions.
MBMom Tip: The display is actually a rental that stays in your yard for 24 hours. You can choose any combination of colors, patterns and accessories right on their website! They currently service Palm Beach and Broward Counties.

MOMpreneur: n. defined as a female business owner who is actively balancing the role of mom and the role of entrepreneur.
Welcome to our latest installment of MOMpreneur Monday, highlighting Florida businesses and brands that were founded by female entrepreneurs and fellow Mommas.
Today’s featured Modern Boca MOMpreneur is Tiffany Frederick, owner of Trusted Party Rentals Boca Raton!
Tell us a little about your background:
I’m a mother of three and was fortunate enough to stay at home until my third child was old enough to attend preschool.
Soon after though, I was super excited about putting on “grown-up clothes” and joining the workforce again. I worked as an ESL teacher for the Palm Beach School District and truly enjoyed helping others achieve their “American Dream”.
My dreams were rerouted when one of my children showed signs of autism. The road to realization, diagnosis, proper treatment, and school placement was long and stressful for me. I decided full-time work was not an option.
One day, at one of the many birthday parties I attended with my kids, I had an inspired thought. “This is a Mickey party. Where is the Mickey? He should be here playing and dancing with these kids!” I knew from that moment I could be that Mickey.
What inspired you to create your company, Trusted Party Rentals, and what challenges have you faced?
I bought my first costume in 2015. It was a Minion. I wanted to test the market, so I posted an ad on Craigslist. Surprisingly, someone called! After that, I learned how important it was to donate my time, and the impact it had on less fortunate individuals. I began to work with numerous charities, like The Broward Boys & Girls Club, Miracle Mile, Barwick Road Church, Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation, Palm Beach School of Autism, Maritime Academy of Palm Beach…and the giving doesn’t stop there.
Now, I employ over 20 team members who include many at-risk teens and persons with special needs. We not only rent party equipment to any venue, but perform for families as costumed characters. My company also coordinate games at events and face paint. Currently we service Lake Worth all the way to North Miami.
In July, I plan to take my characters to Cuba, along with some school supplies to entertain the local children.
“Giving back to my community is the heart and soul of my business.”
My biggest challenge is to slay dragons and solve problems in my professional life and still have dinner ready by 6pm. I aim to be the cool mom with the characters at every event, yet still stop everything to watch a bug crawl on the sidewalk with my kids. To derail my evening route, just because my kids want to snuggle. I’ve realized that some nights the dishes will not be washed, the clothes will remain in a pile, and my kids could care less about a shower every day.
What is truly unique about Trusted Party Rentals?
With the help of my loving, supportive, and business-savvy husband, we have turned this party rental idea into a real business. When a client calls Trusted Party Rentals, they speak to a mom. They speak to a woman who has had experience coordinating children’s events and understands the pitfalls and challenges that may arise.
All of our staff members have had a background check and any member hired to perform as a party host has had a minimum of 5 years’ experience in early childhood development. We take pride in excellent customer service, utmost safety for our families, and professionalism.
Why should Modern Boca Mom readers become your customers?
When a Modern Boca Mom becomes a client of Trusted Party Rentals, they will have a professional experience. You will not have to stress about entertainment once you book with us. Rest assured, you are hiring professionals who communicate well and are all experienced and checked for safety. We understand our families have been looking forward to their event for weeks, months, and in some cases, a year!
What exciting things are coming up with your business?
In addition to taking my charity efforts internationally, my plan is to add more characters to our collection. There are some exciting movies coming out and we want to offer our families those characters live and in person. Who is ready for Lightning McQueen?
I’d also like to expand our service areas. “Coming to a South Florida event near you soon”, we will also soon offer event photography, concession machines and full party planning services.
What you love about living and working in South Florida?
I’ve had the pleasure of living in Richmond, Virginia, Los Angeles, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada and nothing beats year-round sunshine! I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.
I love the diversity and progression of South Florida. Since living here, my kids have been to Rosh Hashanah parties, Feast of the Holy Family, Ramadan festivals, Pride parades, Vesak celebrations, and Spring festivals. This has changed us all for the better.
Have you ever tried to escape the room? I’m not talking about the last time your kids drove you crazy…I’m talking about an ESCAPE ROOM. An interactive game with a theme and fun puzzles. My girlfriends and I were recently invited to serve as beta testers at the new Mystery of Sherlock escape room at Adventure Vault in Boca Raton, which opens May 1st. We were up for the challenge!
The premise? Watson has called your team to investigate the disappearance of Sherlock Holmes! He says Sherlock was supposed to have written back to his letter per usual. But, he has not heard back from him in days and is worried something terrible might have happened! Watson has asked your team to investigate his room for any signs or clues to what may have happened. While your team is searching the room for clues, however, it seems to be getting harder to breathe…
The door has been locked and oxygen shut off from the room. You and your team must find out where Sherlock is and escape before running out of oxygen!
Uh oh! We only had an hour to get through the puzzles and get out of the Mystery of Sherlock escape room at Adventure Vault!
Did we make it before we rain out of air? Did we need help from Adventure Vault staff? Had we remembered to bring a corkscrew for our wine?
The answer was YES to all of the above. It’s elementary my dear!
We had a wonderful time working together and trying to figure out the puzzles and clues to make our way out. The Mystery of Sherlock escape room at Adventure Vault is a really fun group activity for mom friends or couples. The room holds up to 8 people.
Book by clicking HERE or call (561) 922-3881and receive a 20% discount if you reserve the entire room.
P.S. Thanks to April Golightly and my friend Graziela for teaming up with me for this adventure!

It’s a good thing Disney has an amazing coffee partner because this mama needs a constant dose of caffeine to keep up with everything the Walt Disney Company is celebrating this year!
(HELLO- have you tried Joffrey’s Coffee yet?! It’s not all about Starbucks, people!)
As you may have read in our Disney Cruise post, Modern Boca Mom was invited to the 2017 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration!#DisneySMMC (for short) is an invitation-only conference where digital/social media influencers and bloggers are asked to come together, collaborate and learn. We were also filled in on many of the exciting developments (some even secret at the time) happening at Disney in 2017.
We already covered a few of them HERE and HERE if you want to check them out. 🙂
For the rest, we’ve narrowed down the major excitement to 5 top items. Some of which are happening now or REALLY, REALLY soon! Check them out:
5 Things the Walt Disney Company is Celebrating this Year
1- Disneynature Born in China- Released on April 21, 2017
We had the opportunity to screen this stunning film in its entirety and absolutely loved it! Influencers were even part of a behind-the-scenes discussion post-film with producer, Roy Conli. This is definitely something the Walt Disney Company is celebrating this year!
Narrated by John Krasinski, “Born In China” takes an epic journey into the wilds of China where few people have ever ventured. Following the stories of three animal families, the film transports audiences to some of the most extreme environments on Earth. You will witness some of the most intimate moments ever captured in a nature film.
A doting panda bear mother guides her growing baby as she begins to explore and seek independence. A two-year-old golden monkey, who feels displaced by his new baby sister, joins up with a group of free-spirited outcasts. And a mother snow leopard—an elusive animal rarely caught on camera—faces the very real drama of raising her two cubs in one of the harshest and most unforgiving environments on the planet.
Featuring stunning, never-before-seen imagery, the film navigates China’s vast terrain. From the frigid mountains to the heart of the bamboo forest, on the wings of red-crowned cranes, this film seamlessly ties the extraordinary tales together. You have to see it!
2- MagicBand 2 + MagicKeepers Accessories
I personally think it’s been a long time coming, but Walt Disney World is finally allowing you to take your MagicBands…and conveniently wear them in style!
With the launch of the MagicBand 2, which we got to try for ourselves during the #DisneySMMC, we found out that you can now easily remove the center disc. That allows you to place it in a keychain, pendant– you name it– to wear it how you want! Disney has dubbed these accessories: MagicKeepers. These are only a few of the design options Disney showed us during the conference:
How will you wear your Magic Band 2?
3- Disney Springs
Modern Boca Mom covered the NEW, improved Disney Springs at length in this blog post, but it’s important to note that us influencers did have a few hours of fun there during our trip!
Have you ever tried Disneybounding? I did for the first time during the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and had a blast. It’s where you choose to dress in an outfit inspired by a particular Disney character.
Disney held a little social media contest for us and we were able to compete by either showing off our fashionable side, Disney fan side or our Disneybounding side! What do you think of my Maleficent?
You can purchase my Lilly Pulitzer dress through this LINK.
4- Pizzerizzo at Disney Hollywood Studios
Disney Hollywood studios needed a good pizza place after Pizza Planet shuttered last year. It now has that and more in quick service restaurant Pizzerizzo located in Muppet Square!
Stop on by for pizza, a meatball sub or antipasto salad at this friendly neighborhood joint run by Rizzo, the wise-cracking rat. The ambience is fun and casual…and you may even meet a few colorful characters…
The best part about Cars 3 was that we were able to see the Pixar short film, Lou, that will screen prior to the movie! The director of the film was even on hand to walk us through his creative process. It was fascinating!
This short is about a ‘creature’, named Lou, who resides in a school’s lost and found bin. After seeing the school bully, J.J., push the other kids around, Lou decides to take action.
It’ll make you laugh. It will make you cry. It’ll definitely be a nice visual appetizer prior to Cars 3.
Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events.
Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history. Coco opens on November 22nd.
In this Marvel Studios’ film, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer. He finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela.
But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk! Chris Hemsworth stars as Thor and Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as Loki. They are joined by Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, with Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins. That is a major cast y’all! Can’t wait.
THOR: RAGNAROK opens in theaters everywhere November 3rd!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
I’m absolutely giddy to be able to share with you the first official teaser trailer and teaser poster from STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI, which debuted at Star Wars Celebration Orlando!
This is where I would normally insert a film synopsis, but you don’t get that with Star Wars…please. Instead, try to insinuate what you can from this awesome trailer.
It’s going to be epic. Probably the top item the Walt Disney Company is celebrating this year. December 15th can’t come soon enough!
Pin for Later!
