As parents, we all know how important summer learning is. There will be no “summer slide” in my house! Luckily, Modern Boca Dad and Mayor, Scott Singer, agrees. He recently issued a proclamation declaring that June 3 through August 9 will be designated as Summer Reading 2019! This year’s theme is “A Universe of Stories.” Residents are also welcome to participate in the over 100 programs and classes for all ages at the Boca Raton Public Library (BRPL). I can definitely appreciate some free summer fun!
The Häagen-Dazs shop in Gulf Stream Park just south of Boca Raton is celebrating in a BIG way Tuesday, May 14th from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.! They will be offering all guests a free cone and they will be able to choose from select flavors.
In addition, Gulfstream Park will be hosting an afternoon of FREE entertainment at Champions Plaza featuring an interactive DJ, face painting, balloons, sing-alongs, and appearances by characters from Frozen. There will be Olaf Meet and Greets starting at 4:30 p.m., which will be followed by a character show at approximately 6:30 p.m. How fun is that?
Are you ice-screaming for joy like I am yet? I know my daughter definitely will be…
I am slightly obsessed with Häagen-Dazs vanilla chocolate chip flavor. I’m not going to lie. Their ice cream is incredibly good! It’s a true treat when I have a sweet tooth.
Looking for a unique birthday party idea for your somewhat *impossible to please* son or daughter? I feel like at this point my daughter has seen it all in terms of birthday parties. All I got as a kid was a pool party with ice cream cake! *END RANT* You know that we do our birthday party research here at Modern Boca Mom. And now we’re happy to report we’ve found the best LEGO birthday party in Boca Raton and Delray Beach! Welcome to South Florida Young Engineers!
Exciting mysteries await visitors to the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium with their newest exhibit, Rainforest Adventure, opening May 4 and staying until September 4, 2019. We love visiting–this is a great museum with tons to do without being overwhelming!
In this NEW exhibit (for all ages), visitors are invited to experiment with physical and mental challenges as they descend through the four layers of rainforest. By the time visitors reach the forest floor, they are better equipped with an understanding of how humans impact this diverse yet fragile forest, and how they can make a difference.
