Twas the beginning of spring and all through the town, Boca’s fab social season was winding down;
The wine had been drunk, all the food tasted, the fashions shown off, and no one’s time wasted;
Raising money for charity was the name of the game, but this Boca Mom is exhausted all the same!
Modern Boca Mom is thrilled to report that the Boca Raton social season ended with a bang this year with two amazing events less than a week apart: Boca Bacchanal & SHUZZ Art Fashion Show.
MBMom attended both events last year and has the inside scoop on how both went down in 2015.
Despite the pouring rain on Friday night, 1,500 guests joined the Boca Raton Historical Society and Museum for a Boca Bacchanal weekend unlike any before.
Bacchanalia, held March 27, for the first time at the Boca Raton Airport Hangar, wowed guests from the moment they arrived on the red carpet with views of private jets, gorgeous Ferraris, the signature Boca Bacchanal car and a spectacle of live entertainment.
Once inside (and dry), guests experienced tastings from 40 South Florida restaurants, over 140 varieties of wine from top vintners across the world, chef demonstrations from three of Bacchanal’s notable chefs, a luxurious pop-up shop from Saks Fifth Avenue (which #modernbocadad thoroughly enjoyed) and unique offerings from local businesses and sponsors for guests to enjoy.
History went high tech this year with a live social media stream (attendees who posted with the hashtag #BocaBacchanal could see their posts on the main event screen) and models in video vests streaming footage of the Boca Raton Historical Society programs and preservation projects who walked the event taking donations for the new Welcome Center at Town Hall.
Celebrity Kathie Lee Gifford, representing GIFFT Wines, was also a presenter at Bacchanalia and a Vintner Dinner in Boca Raton.
The GIFFT rosé was delish, but I also enjoyed the offerings from good ol’ Cupcake Wines, one of my NYC liquor store staples.
SHUZZ Art Fashion Show
I’ll let my good friend and fellow South Florida blogger April Golightly take you through all of the specific fashion details from the SHUZZ Art Fashion Show at Mizner Park Amphitheater featuring designs from Haute Hippie (click HERE), but needless to say it was a ton of fun and again, for a great cause!
SHUZZ (pronounced shoes) is a South Florida based non-profit organization that functions off of support from volunteers only, existing to provide new shoes to children in poverty-stricken areas around the world.
I especially liked this Haute Hippie design (photo by Brooke Strange):
I drink wine because I don’t like to keep things bottled up 😉
Both of these events are MUSTS during the Boca “Season.” If you missed out this year, make sure you put them on your calendar for 2016!
