When ‘season’ hits South Florida, there’s one thing that’s for certain: houseguests will follow. Most Boca residents have family or friends who live in a much colder climate (with the exception of California and Hawaii). So, it’s no wonder they flock to us during the winter. I personally love it. We have a guest room! We have a pool! I just don’t enjoy having to meal plan (and shop) for a large group. That’s where your ultimate Boca Raton houseguest survival kit from Perdue Farms comes in…
When it comes to new restaurants and retailers (even bars!) opening at Town Center, this Modern Boca Mom is usually all over it. But this fall was busy, people!!! I was invited to a “hard hat” media preview back in October 2019 to check out a new high-tech restaurant and virtual reality lounge concept called Rex Baron at Town Center Boca Raton. I was intrigued. And honestly, a bit confused as to why something ‘outside the box’ like this might come to Boca over a tourist destination like Orlando. But besides being crazy busy, I also hadn’t written about Rex Baron yet because it JUST opened to the public on December 16th!
Under pressure! That’s how I feel this time of year as a mom. I never quite think my husband is under the same amount though, am I right? Makes me resent him a tiny little bit. But, this is supposed to be the most “wonderful time of the year!” Relationships are complicated, aren’t they? Why is it that the holidays in particular put so much strain on a marriage/partnership? Especially if you’re a parent…
I reached out to Boca therapist, Lori Lundin-Fish, PhD, LMFT of Palm Beach Therapy Center. As a mom AND therapist, she gets how muddled and stressful our lives are during the holiday season. And I need help!
Stop me if this sounds familiar. You feel like you have a lot of friends in your life. I mean, your wedding was probably about 150+, right? But after having a baby…you find that most of these friends “don’t get it.”
Don’t get what exactly?
Motherhood. It’s hard! And unless you’ve been there firsthand, it can be REALLY challenging to relate.
So then we decide we need Boca mom friends. But, it’s not always so easy to join this new tribe of women. That’s why I’m talking to Boca Raton therapist, Lori Lundin-Fish, PhD, LMFT of Palm Beach Therapy Center. As mom AND therapist, she gets how challenging this process can be. Let’s discuss!
