Children ages 5-12 are invited to explore our fair city’s award-winning facilities in a month-long, scavenger hunt in Boca Raton! Through the STEAM through September initiative, a collaboration between the Children’s Science Explorium at Sugar Sand Park, the Boca Raton Public Library and Gumbo Limbo Nature Center will provide engaging activities and exhibits at each of the locations focusing on (S)cience, (T)echnology, (E)ngineering, (A)rt and (M)ath.
What a fun thing to do with the kids this month in our area! And it’s free!
The program kicks-off on Friday, August 30th (2019) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sugar Sand Park, 300 S. Military Trail, with a FREE party featuring food trucks, giveaways, games, music and the official opening of the Children’s Science Explorium’s newest exhibit, Animationland.
From electronic interfaces through a full-body opportunity to plan and star in a stop-motion production, Animationland includes a wide range of interactive experiences. Environmental elements provide an immersive setting to inspire all visitors to learn the art and science of animation.
Here’s how the scavenger hunt in Boca Raton works…
Children can earn passport stamps at each of the participating locations by completing STEAM challenges. Once they have completed a challenge in each of the five STEAM categories, they will be eligible to collect a prize!
The passport can be picked up at participating locations. It features all of the registration information and exhibits happening throughout the month of September (2019).
The fine print…
Some programs require pre-registration and/or fees. Class size and/or supplies may be limited. All five stamps are required to receive prizes at any participating facility.
