See What There Is To ‘Sea’ At Miami Seaquarium

This Miami Seaquarium post was written by my sister and Modern Boca Mom contributor, Lauren Ricks. I am so happy she decided to share her experience and share a Miami Seaquarium coupon with all of us! Enjoy!

Being a big fan of sea animals and wildlife, it was a no brainer taking my son Aden down to the Miami Seaquarium! Did you know that you can visit world-class exhibits with manatees, sea turtles, penguins, rays and more? And it’s less than an hour away from Boca Raton!

Your Miami Seaquarium Strategy…

After some strategic planning, we decided to take advantage of the “cooler” time of a Florida day and go first thing. The park opens at 10:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. Grab a map with showtimes so you don’t miss out on the live performances you want to see!

Our first stop was Penguin Isle.  My son LOVES penguins and let’s be honest, who doesn’t? These are the newest creatures to call Miami Seaquarium their home– African Penguins living at the brand new Penguin Isle. As soon as you walk up, you are greeted by these cute, energetic animals.

Not to mention, you can purchase additional VIP Tours and experiences such as ‘trainer for a day’ and a sea trek reef encounter which allows you to walk through a 300-gallon tropical reef!

NEW at the Miami Seaquarium!

Make sure to check out the newest attraction, the Savage Ancient Seas, and come face to face with prehistoric sea monsters! See giant dinosaurs of the deep, up close and in person. You can touch fossils and experience the ocean as it was 75 million years ago.

Get out of the Florida heat and cool down at wet/dry Salty’s Pirate Playground. The attraction consists of a two-level pirate ship, 31 feet by 27 feet, located at the center of Tortuga Passage. The pirate ship, featuring water blasters, cargo nets, padded areas and a spiral slide, entertains buccaneers ages 2-12.

Last, but not least…

Our two favorite live shows were the Flipper Dolphin Show and the Killer Whale and Dolphin show. With lots of excitement and action, these are the ones you definitely don’t want to skip!

We were amazed at these beautiful creatures and the specialized training they have at Miami Seaquarium.
