Shriek Week 2018 at Boca Raton’s Sugar Sand Park Community Center is back this October with TWO WHOLE WEEKENDS filled with local Halloween fun and entertainment for the whole family! Can you believe they’ve been hosting this event for 14 years already?
The best part? The themed haunted house is re-designed each year, so Shriek Week 2018 is always fresh with something for every age group in your family. And they go all out. It’s crafted with professional effects, lighting, sets and actors.
The theme for 2018 is…wait for it: Dreamy-Land Traveling Carnival. (#dailybocaavery’s Greatest Showman costume is going to be perfect!) In its heyday, this traveling carnival boasted a dreamy, magical world – rides, arcades, performers, games, even live animals! But over the years Dreamy-Land has become a nightmare…meant only for die-hard amusement park fans. Timed reservations are required for this top notch haunted attraction, which is appropriate for ages 7-12.
BOCA RATON’S SHRIEK WEEK 2018 DATES/TIMES: Fridays and Saturdays- October 19, 20, 26, and 27 from 6:00-11:00 p.m. and a special “Lite Nite” on Thursday, October 25 from 5:00-9:00 p.m.
Shriek Week “Lite Nite” is a perfect option for children ages 5-12. There will be a less scary version of the haunted house for younger ones and those more easily frightened.
COSTS: Haunted House discounted reservations are $6.00 per person. Reservations will be $9.00 per person starting October 6th. Reservations can be booked in person, online, or by calling the Box Office at 561-347-3948. Adults MUST purchase a reservation with their kids.
MBMom Tip: Reserve early as time slots do sell out.
Other highlights for Shriek Week 2018 include:
- Haunted walk-through attraction “Alien Lab” where guests can find out if UFOs really do exist
- Trackless train rides and interactive animal exhibits
- Free LED lighted stilt-walking “robots” & DJ show (1st weekend only)
- Magic Shows (2nd weekend only)
- Food vendors
Families can enjoy a variety of additional entertainment activities including a black light carnival game room, photo souvenirs, glitter tattoos, make & takes and more! Most activities require additional activity tickets which can be purchased onsite the day of event. A FREE indoor Trick or Treat Trail will also be featured nightly.
Look out for Modern Boca Mom that second weekend! We’re excited to be the official 2018 Shriek Week event sponsor!
The Kids’ Spooky Film Festival will also be returning for its 7th year. Films will be shown in the queue area while patrons await their turn for the haunted house, and everyone will get a chance to vote on their favorite film online!
