Shriek Week 2017 at Boca Raton’s Sugar Sand Park Community Center is back this month with TWO WEEKENDS filled with local Halloween fun and entertainment for the whole family! Come and celebrate their 13th fear year!
The best part? The themed haunted house is re-designed each year, so Shriek Week 2017 is always fresh with something for every age group in your family. And they go all out. It’s crafted with professional effects, lighting, sets and actors.
The theme for 2017 is appropriate since it’s lucky/scary number 13: “Superstitions.” Guests will test their luck when they visit the 13th floor, cross black cats, step on cracks, whistle past graveyards, and even walk under a ladder. Don’t forget your lucky rabbit’s foot! Timed reservations are required for this top notch haunted attraction, which is appropriate for ages 7-12. The LITE NITE (October 26) haunted house is for ages 5-12, with brighter lighting, less intense scares and a modified soundtrack.
BOCA RATON’S SHRIEK WEEK 2017 DATES/TIMES: Fridays and Saturdays- October 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 from 6:00-11:00 p.m. and a special “Lite Nite” on Thursday, October 26 from 5:00-9:00 p.m.
COSTS: Haunted House discounted reservations are $6.00 per person. Reservations will be $9.00 per person starting October 6th. Reservations can be booked in person, online, or by calling the Box Office at 561-347-3948.
MBMom Tip: Reserve early as time slots do sell out.
Other highlights for Boca Raton’s Shriek Week 2017 include:
- Haunted walk-through attraction “Granny Grim: Alien Lab” where guests can find out if UFOs really do exist (closed on LITE NITE 10/26)
- LED lighted stilt-walking “robots” & DJ show (1st weekend); Animal Tales “Creature Feature” show (2nd weekend)
- glow-in-the-dark carnival games
- trackless train rides
- glitter tattoos
- make and take
- trick or treating
- food for purchase
Most activities require additional activity tickets which can be purchased onsite the day of event. A FREE indoor Trick or Treat Trail will also be featured nightly. Two new attractions are scheduled– an inflatable Fun-house Maze and the “Creature Feature” show by Animal Tales. It’s a hands-on experience introducing kids to some mysterious animals, such as a boa constrictor, a hedgehog, a chinchilla and more!
The Kids’ Spooky Film Festival will also be returning for its 6th year. Films will be shown in the queue area while patrons await their turn for the haunted house, and everyone will get a chance to vote on their favorite film online!
