This year, my family has put the lovely Naomi from Sweet Memories Photography to the test! We’ve shot back-to-school portraits, Halloween photos, holiday photos and have truly come to the conclusion that she’s an amazing photographer. But, did you know that her shooting specialty is actually weddings? Let me tell you; having been a Boca bride myself a few years ago, finding a Boca Raton wedding photographer for your family that you also love is no easy task.
If you or someone you love got engaged this holiday season, we’re here to tell you why you should book Sweet Memories Photography for the wedding and events ahead…
Finding a Boca Raton Wedding Photographer for Your Family: Interview with Naomi Phelps of Sweet Memories Photography
Why do you love shooting weddings?
Weddings are so emotional and intimate, and being a part of a couple’s wedding day is indescribable. As a photographer, I am given the opportunity to freeze special moments and emotions so they can be shared with loved ones who are unable to attend (even those not born yet). Or, so they can be remembered by the couple years down the road. It’s an amazing feeling!
Do you have any tips or tricks when it comes to shooting kids at weddings?
My biggest tip is to let kids be kids! I love capturing their personalities and tend to get the best photos when they’re running around or being goofballs!
However, when it comes to the formal or “posed” family photos, be sure to keep children fed and hydrated prior to the session (but nothing that might stain their mouths or teeth!!). Be sure to give the photographer something to keep their attention as well. Usually a noisy toy or your child’s favorite song or phrase will do the trick. Things like “say cheese” or “ICE CREAM” can help to get kids to look at the camera.
What questions should a bride ask before finding her Boca Raton wedding photographer and booking them?
I actually just wrote a blog post about doing your wedding photographer research HERE. Knowing what you want and what to look for is crucial when finding a Boca Raton wedding photographer and helps make this process feel less intimidating and overwhelming.
I highly recommend using this questions guide by Here Comes the Guide because it covers everything you should ask your prospective photographer! Not all of the questions may apply to your wedding, so omit any that aren’t applicable. However, it’s the most helpful set I’ve found to date.
Why should South Florida couples choose you?
I am an unobtrusive lifestyle photographer and make it my goal to not only make you feel beautiful on your wedding day, but to make you and everyone feel at ease in front of the camera. We understand weddings can be stressful and I don’t want to add to that. I love to stay behind the scenes, blend into the background, to capture the events and emotions as they happen naturally. It is extremely important to my team and I to allow the couple and their guests to enjoy the day and be themselves.
