Did you know there is a NEW Waterstone Manatee Mascot at the Resort & Marina in Boca Raton?
Meet Morty, the Waterstone Manatee Mascot!
The 2016 mascot campaign, which includes a manatee-themed hotel package and an educational component, will allow guests to automatically support statewide preservation efforts through the Save the Manatee Club, a non-profit organization that will receive a percentage of proceeds from the program’s revenues.
Maybe you caught it on MBMom’s social media, but the manatee mascot campaign kicked off in early December, when Boca Raton locals and hotel guests were invited to cast their vote for the naming of the new Waterstone manatee mascot.
A grand naming celebration then took place on Dec. 20, where we celebrated the newest team member and enjoyed activities including a manatee cookie decorating table, various games and prizes and, a kids buffet luncheon. So much fun!
As a state marine mammal, the Florida manatee plays an important role in influencing the plant growth in shallow waters, bays, estuaries, canals and coastal waters they call home; and now, Waterstone Resort & Marina will play homage to the local gentle giants.
Situated on the Intracoastal Waterway, during migratory season, Waterstone guests often spot manatees from the outdoor patio. It was only natural to choose it as the Resort’s mascot!
