My sweet Bailey is one! Of course, I had to plan an amazing Boca birthday party that she would never remember :). But seriously, I wanted to celebrate it with my close friends and family who have helped me so much this past year. I needed a theme, so Pinterest was my first step for inspiration. I came across a beautiful carousel cake and that was when I knew I wanted to have a carousel horse birthday party (here is my Pinterest Idea Board). And what better place to have it than at Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton with their beautiful carousel. I rented a pavilion by the field house for only $50!
The next step was finding out where I could make all these beautiful ideas come into fruition. I really wanted to use as many local resources as I could, not only to cut down on cost, but to also make it less stressful for me by not having to worry about mail arrival and quality. It is amazing how many awesome local businesses we have at our fingertips to create the Pinterest party of our dreams!
If you are looking for local Boca birthday party vendors, these are the best around:
I was so impressed with the balloon creations by D&S Balloonatics that I had to have them on board! This is a family run business (father, mother and son) that puts creativity and a lot of love into the balloon art that they create. They truly love what they do and offer a variety of options for all budgets and parties of all sizes. If you can dream it, they can probably create it!
As owner David Goldsztajn Farelo said, “We don’t just want to have a wow effect we want our customers to say, ‘this is awesome!” The carousel balloons they created for me were awesome! The balloons were pink and gold with curly string forming a cute arch over the table. The ends of the balloons were anchored with Mylar horses attached to balloon carousel poles. It really made the birthday table extra special.
You can contact them via their Facebook page, website or by phone (561) 926-7120. Try to plan on contacting them 2 weeks before your celebration, but if you need a last minute balloon design, they will do their best to help you out. Be sure to tell them you saw them on Modern Boca Mom!
Awesome, right? Here are more examples of their work.
Now on to the cake! With my idea from Pinterest in my mind, I contacted Heather Harris of Dreams ~n~ Sugar. Heather is an FAU grad with Bachelors in Accounting, but after making a cake for a friend’s son, she found her true calling in the dessert world. I’m glad she did.
I sent her a pic of my dream cake and smash cake for my Boca birthday party and she made it even better. Not only did it look great, it tasted wonderful. Heather gets all kinds of cake requests and enjoys being creative and seeing how her cakes bring joy to her clients. The cake she made for me was a silhouette of a carousel horse that tied in my theme of ribbons and gold and the topper was a gold glittery “B” for Bailey. The top layer was white cake with strawberry filling and the second tier was chocolate with chocolate mouse filling. The smash cake was a perfect little pink creation with Bailey’s name spelled out on a pennant banner as the topper.
Here are some examples of other Boca birthday party creations by Dreams ~n~ Sugar:
You can never have too much cake, right? I love the look of cake pops and Sugar and Spiked creates cake pops that look so pretty, you might not want to eat them…but trust me, you should eat them because they taste as good as they look. My pretty little pops were pink with sparkle gold swirls and pink bows tied to the cake pop.
So pretty! They were gone within minutes. Here are some other awesome pops by Sugar and Spiked…I love that name.
So I am also a chocoholic…I must have chocolate. And boy did I find it at So Sweet It Is.
In business for 18 years, they can pretty much make anything out of chocolate. From Boca birthday party favors, to holiday gifts and so much more. They are known for their unique creation called, Boca Trash…and you didn’t think there was trash in Boca? This treat is a sweet, salty, crunchy, and chewy bite size concoction.
Stop by their store at 500 N.E. Spanish River Blvd. Suite #22 in Boca Raton to give it a try and be sure to like them on Facebook. You can email them at firstname.lastname@example.org or give them a call at 561-417-4400.
The chocolate pop they made for me was a rich white chocolate carousel horse with pink and gold ribbon!
When you walk into So Sweet It Is, the aroma of chocolate is divine!
OK! Enough with the sweets. Let’s talk details. I love the new trend of chalkboard art for birthday parties.Mother of three, Amanda Kopacz, and owner of ChalkityChalk is all about chalk art. You might have even seen her work on displays at some of your favorite restaurants. She can custom design a design for your child’s birthday with just a few details.
I let her know my daughter’s favorite song, games and stats and told her the theme and voila, a chalkboard was born. And most of the time she does this with a pen in one hand and a baby on her hip. I love how us moms know how to multitask.
For orders, inquiries and to view a gallery of her work visit ChalkityChalk on Facebook. ChalkityChalk is also on Etsy, and if you use the code MODERNBOCAMOM, you get $5 off any purchase of $35 or more.
Here is my cute design by ChalkityChalk:
I love how she incorporated the bows and the pennant banner! Here is another great board.
I have to say, working with these local businesses was great. Each and everyone of them are willing to work with you and help you create your Boca birthday party dream.
If you are looking for a great all in one business for bounce houses, equipment and characters, check out Parties N Fun. They have characters from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Elsa and Anna, Spiderman and so much more! For personalized birthday shirts, I also recommend Inspired By Ju!
I ordered Bailey’s tutu outfit from TicklePants. She isn’t local, but she is a mom and she has great birthday outfits!
I have to leave you with just a few more pics from the party and my cute Bailey! Please be sure to comment if you have used any of these businesses!
