When #moderbocadad and I have the opportunity to organize a date night like most parents, we jump on it.
Typical fare: dinner and a movie.
Not the most original line-up I know, but we tend to keep it simple since it’s usually last minute planning. Story of a parent’s life, right?
Luckily, as a Modern Boca Mom-my Blogger, I am presented with opportunities to try new things out on a regular basis. I love it when a company or brand approaches me with something that I know will totally click with my readers. It’s not always a fit (our focus is South Florida after all), but last month I experienced two things that I’m convinced equal the perfect date night whether you have a babysitter or not.
First up: 16 Handles in Boca Raton’s University Commons.
Who needs dinner? Go straight for dessert I say!
This was actually my first time at 16 Handles and I loved it!
I really like that you do everything yourself, from picking out your yogurt (Cake Batter), to choosing your toppings (Chocolate Chips/Sprinkles/Cookies) and you just pay based on the weight of your final dessert.
Even more perfect date night tip: Walk over to Whole Foods Market down the plaza and grab a bottle of wine.
Then head home for…
Date Night Part 2: Zeel.
Zeel is a revolutionary way to book same-day, in-home massages with licensed and vetted therapists. Picture: UBER (the car service app), except for massages.
All you have to do is download the Zeel app, tell them your location (they cover all of Palm Beach County), what kind of massage you prefer (soothing Swedish or invigorating deep tissue), appointment length (60 or 90 minutes), preferred Zeel Massage Therapist (ZMT) gender (male, female or no preference), and available appointment times.
You’ll receive a confirmation text from Zeel confirming your appointment time and therapist, usually within minutes. The ZMT comes to your location for the massage with a massage table and other necessary stuff.
You only need to provide linens, a towel, a pillow, and a little space for the massage table. Your credit card will be charged after the massage is completed with tip included. It’s so easy!
#modernbocadad and I booked a couples massage right in our family room, scheduled to start exactly 30 minutes after #dailybabyavery’s bedtime.
It was 60 minutes of heaven and so nice not to have to leave the house.
Post-massage, the ZMT’s packed up their tables, I threw the linens in the wash and #modernbocadad cracked open that bottle of wine and we dove into a movie completely relaxed.
The perfect date night.
