It’s fall y’all! Even though it doesn’t feel like it when I get into my car mid-afternoon and it reads 100 degrees. I don’t know about you, but I am sooooo over this lingering summer heat! So this New Yorker is going to fake it till we make it! We’re officially in “fall in South Florida mode” here in our home, and you could be too!
The best way I know how to get started with all my fall activities is to kick it off at the Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market!
Soon, the Fall Festival at Bedner’s will be starting which means a Pumpkin Patch that would make Charlie Brown jealous, hayrides, a corn maze and all the homemade ice cream you can handle!
Early bird definitely gets the worm in this case. Lots of families come to take their official “Fall Family Photos” and nab all the great pumpkins. Not to mention the closer to Halloween and Thanksgiving you get the crazier the crowds. We take our boys every year and thoroughly enjoy the seasonal decor, even if it is all a facade as we sweat in our button up shirts and boots. We’ll take it!

This is is also the time of year we place our order for their famous farm fresh turkeys. If you haven’t tried one of these it’s a must-have! They have some of the juiciest, most delectable turkey you’ve ever tasted! That frozen stuff is for the birds (pun totally intended).
FUN TIP: Early in the season, you can score great big bouquets of mums, and in late November / early December, they have the tallest potted poinsettias for an unbeatable price.
Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market is one of the few family owned and operated farms in South Florida and they pride themselves on it. They’ve provided quality produce year round since the early 1950’s and sell some of the most delicious homemade pies around.
If you get a chance, try one of their custom veggie or fruit platters. They perhaps are best known for their ridiculously sweet strawberries and juicy tomatoes fresh picked from their “You-Pick” patch. It’s a bit of a drive from East Boca, but well worth it. Bedner’s is sure to please the whole family.
If you are of the “crafty” persuasion, then simply perusing the Fall/Autumn boards on Pinterest is bound to get you in the seasonal mood. I don’t know about you but I can’t get through five minutes of browsing before I have a mile long shopping list for Home Depot AND the grocery store so I can make the best Pumpkin cheesecake EVER, and place it on the new farmhouse table I’ve built.
All alone. With my bare hands. From Driftwood.
All of the ideas for different fall in South Florida crafts you can do with your kids together are worth stalking the boards in bed at 1AM, but that’s just my craft lovin’ opinion. Ladies…. Start your Pin-gines!
Another way to enjoy the fall in South Florida season is by consuming as much pumpkin as humanly possible!
Pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin beer, pumpkin pancakes, you get the idea…
Perhaps the most popular of these is the coveted Pumpkin Spice coffees and creamers hitting the shelves at an alarming rate comes September 1st. People just can’t get enough, and neither could I!
With all the controversy surrounding the presence of any “real pumpkin” in any of these coffees and creamers, #ModernBocaCrunchyMom took to the internet (don’t judge me) to find an awesome homemade version of this seasonal favorite.
That’s right, I now enjoy pure homemade pumpkin spice latte’s containing actual pumpkin puree` right here at home for a fraction of the cost. It’s really simple and you can make extra to keep stocked in your fridge for easy access.
Oh Florida.. Sigh…
