Yes, the Naked (Wine) Rumors are True…

We’ve started a Modern Boca Mom Wine Club…with NakedWines.com!

As you may have read, my NYC girlfriends and I took a little trip to Napa Valley over Memorial Day Weekend and let me tell you…we had an absolute BLAST!  Our group visited several exclusive wineries that I had never been to, we experienced amazing tastings and even met some fantastic, wine-savvy individuals.

Some of those individuals were from NakedWines.com and after a few (OK, many) tastings poolside with some of the company founders, it hit me:

Modern Boca Moms NEED a Wine Club.

Lucky for us, the folks at NakedWines.com agreed (wahoo!) and they are now our official MBMom Wine Club partners!

Not to be confused with Simply Naked Wines (the one with the single grape on the label), Nakedwines.com is a customer-funded winery, with a unique business model, where wine drinkers can fund winemakers in exchange for wholesale pricing and exclusivity.

Born in December 2008, their goal is to find the world’s most talented, undiscovered winemakers and set them up in business.

Mixed Case

What makes them different from other wineries is that NakedWines.com customers can choose to become “Angels” in return for a 40-60% wine discount.  Angels invest $40 per month toward their future wine purchases, making them Angel investors.  NakedWines.com then uses the Angel contributions to fund independent winemakers who would be unable to create the wines they really like without financing.  They call it the “virtuous circle”, as everybody gets more for less, without trampling on anyone along the way.

For example, a $50 bottle of wine has only $7 of wine in it. Customer-funded winemakers don’t waste money on traditional marketing so NakedWines.com can sell the wine for $15 instead of $50. So, Angels get a great deal and winemakers do what they love – make great wines — without spending time and money on stuff you can’t taste.

Makes sense right?  I love that they are supporting the “little guys,” independent winemakers who would have a tough time even trying to compete with the marketing budgets of wines like Robert Mondavi and Gallo.

So, here’s the deal:  Modern Boca Moms now qualify for $100 toward their first purchase of $160 or more at NakedWines.com!  And, our MBMom Wine Club orders even have the SHIPPING INCLUDED.
